Thinking Blogger Award
Karen over at Scribe’s Writing Desk has very kindly nominated me for a Thinking Blogger Award.
It’s a touching gesture as I consider Karen a close friend in the Blogosphere and she has her own very special blog that I have learned a lot from.
I’ve been blogging for a little over two years; I’m pretty sure I started in July 2004 with a blog run through Blogger before moving to benjaminsolah.com in July 2005.
Along the way, I think my writing abilities and my political ideas have been honed and this is in no small part due to the space blogging has offered me and the commenters and bloggers supporting me.
Now it’s my turn to make my own nominations for the Thinking Blogger Award.
The Truth About Writing: This is Fred’s latest blog but I’ve been reading Fred in the Blogosphere for some time, sharing his own experiences as a writer. His latest blog is chronicling the writing of a novel and sure to provide those new to the process with some invaluable information.
Deborah Woehr: With her own writerly experiences, Deborah comes across as a powerful networker in the writer’s section of the Blogosphere. She stands out as the blogger to pull off the task of converting blogging prowess into fiction sales.
HorrorScope: This blog and it’s dedicated band of bloggers has taken on the task of compiling Australian horror news. As part of the Australian Horror Writers Association, the task of reviving horror fiction in Australia has been left in their capable hands.
Dahr Jamail’s Weblog: If you think reviving Australian horror is tough, try blogging about the truth of what’s going on the Middle-East. Dahr is performing a very dangerous (and important) task in providing in depth and personal commentary on issues like the War in Iraq and the struggle for Palestine.
You see, it is simply a very young boy’s record: John Angliss is not only a talented and knowledgeable political blogger, but he’s taken on the task of networking socialist bloggers through his efforts in building the Carnival of Socialism.
As you can see, there’s some considerable emphasis on those bloggers that have managed to network groups of bloggers and issues dear to me. This is because blogging is about communication between blogs and bloggers.
If you’re one of the special bloggers of one of the blogs mentioned above, you’ve been tagged (very mean, I know) and here’s the rules for passing on the niceties:
- If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
- Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
- Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote
Update: Adrian Swift over at Chronicling the Novel… has also kindly nominated me for the Thinking Blogger Award.

Keep marching forward my friend! You’ve many a friend in the US, although you’d never know it by the sycophantic braying of the current administration.
Peace.
Greetings Ben….
Just came from voting for you in the Blogger’s Choice Awards….
Cheers from un-communist China…

Thanks for the support, poetry man. It’s true the MSM don’t like to let out that people hate Bush so much. That’s how blogging comes into play.
Heya Lonnie, thanks for the vote. Good to see a fellow critic of China in the Blogosphere.
Thank you, Ben!
[...] I’ve recently been nominated by both Ben Solah and Allie B for the Thinking Blogger Award! I really appreciate these nominations, especially from bloggers whose sites I admire so much. Thanks! [...]
