About Me

    Profile pic

My name's Benjamin Solah; I'm a horror writer and Marxist revolutionary living in Melbourne, Australia. I work full-time in an office but prefer to focus my attention on writing and politics. I write horror stories with a political edge - I like to portray capitalism as brutal and unjust. I'm also involved in politics as a revolutionary socialist and can frequently be found at left-wing protests including against wars, racism, attack's on worker's rights, environmental destruction, sexism and homophobia.

365: Day 77

Day 77

Day 77: After finishing NaNoWriMo last night, I took it easy today and only wrote a little bit.

Instead, tonight I sat down and watched OfficeSpace (a reward from Margo for finishing) and ate choc-coated coffee beans (a reward from Jodi)

Did you get the Superman reference? I love that film… It’s one of my favorite examples of “geek casting” ever… There are more nods in Office Space than should really work, but it all comes together perfectly. And the ending rocks.

I’ve always wanted to take pieces of office equipment out into a field and smash the shit out of them. There’s a horrible mid-nineties printer I’ve had to use for months now, and I swear it is getting slower every time I use it. Love, love, love that film.

I do not condone the destruction of property which belongs to someone else, but if anyone wants to break stuff… Well… You know where to find me. :D

  • Guys, I love this film too. Could watch it over and over. The printer scene, get promoted for doing nothing, everything. It’s awesome.

I love geek films and I love things about offices like Dilbert, The Office, Company by Max Barry.
