NaNoWriMo: Equal Writes – Raising Money for Same-Sex Marriage Through Novelling
Following my post on Friday asking for people’s interest in sponsoring me for National Novel Writing Month, I have decided to go ahead and do it, raising money for the Equal Love group who are campaigning for same-sex marriage rights.
I have set up a Facebook group which everyone is invited to join and invite other people to. It’s called Equal Writes
People are encouraged to donate in whatever way they can, or if they can’t, at least spread the word and encourage others to. People can donate by pledging so much per a certain number of words (e.g. $1 per 1,000 words,) an amount for finishing and/or just for participating. A few people have already said they’d donate $1 for 1,000 words and will double it if I finish the full 50,000 words.
This is a great way to raise money for the campaign for same-sex marriage rights as well as promote the issue. I would also love the support because people pledging money and supporting me would be a massive motivation and source of encouragement for my writing.
Donations can be made via Paypal, Direct Deposit, Cheque or Money Order – or if you’re friends with me in real life, cash or whatever in person is fine. Contact me at benjamin [at] benjaminsolah [dot] com and I’ll be creating a list of what people are pledging.
Oh and please spread the word about this via your own blogs, Twitter and Facebook!

I dont judge the third sex individuals and i totally believe that you can measure a person through their personality not by their gender orientation. I totally have high respect to them and they are not doing anything wrong in the society.
But, I mean to have same sex marriages? come on!!!
where is our values!!! its too much..
Too much what? That doesn’t make any sense.

Too much? Too equal? Is there even degrees of equal? You’re either equal or you’re not.
Deadale:
“Where is our values!! its too much” what on earth are you talking about?
By definition, a marriage is about two people who make legal vows that bind them together. If you want to question values, then the real question is, what kind of society do we live in that would make it necessary to have to have special “rights” for two people in love to legally make this committment?
