About Me

    Profile pic

My name's Benjamin Solah; I'm a horror writer and Marxist revolutionary living in Melbourne, Australia. I work full-time in an office but prefer to focus my attention on writing and politics. I write horror stories with a political edge - I like to portray capitalism as brutal and unjust. I'm also involved in politics as a revolutionary socialist and can frequently be found at left-wing protests including against wars, racism, attack's on worker's rights, environmental destruction, sexism and homophobia.

365: Day 17

365: Day 17

Hate coming home from writer’s group so late but the emptiness of the train station is nice and the orange glow was part of the inspiration for my novella.

  • There’s been plenty of orange today with all the dust storms (we’re expected to get our share of it tomorrow in Cairns).

There is something incredibly lonely and slightly apocalyptic about the glow and the empty expanse of the platform.

This is a great picture Ben!! It inspires some great ideas – horror wise of course. Can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with.

    Take care!

I was just reading about the dust storm in Sydney today. Looks like it’s heading your way.

I agree with Jodi, there’s something apocalyptic about that empty train station – the perfect setting for a horror story!
